Welcome to Archive Atlantic
We are launching archiveatlantic.com today, April 9, 2018. There is still much work to be done, but we have structured the site and reviewed many posts from the past. There are years of posts and documents from a variety of sites which will be consolidated here. Many have archival value and others remain of general interest to those of us who live downeast. We hope that you will subscribe to this site and that you will find the contents enjoyable and useful. Explore the menu bar at the top. It provides a great way to explore categories filled with information and it will be growing steadily.
Trade along the northeast coast of North America has existed for thousands of years. In fact, European settlers have thrived on these traditional trade routes and the movement of goods back and forth, legal and otherwise. This important trade continues at an accelerated rate today as raw materials flow at a frightening rate south into New England and other population centres in the USA. Recent efforts to rebrand “Atlantica” as a new corporately driven effort flies in the face of historical ties that remain strong today among the peoples of this astoundingly productive and beautiful area. “Archive Atlantic” has been created to continue these historic ties by publishing relevant current and historical information from the length and breadth of our region. Enjoy and learn about the activities and concerns of your neighbo/urs.
